Justin John Albert, 39 of Cody, passed away April 12, 2022 in Valentine. Services were held Monday, April 18, 2021 at the White Elephant Hall in Cody with burial following at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Cody.

Justin was born on September 5, 1982 to the late Mike Albert and Terri Johnston (Duba/Albert). Growing up, he enjoyed hunting, showing cattle, fishing and spending time with his dad and uncle. He graduated with the class of 2000 from Cody-Kilgore, where he was active in FFA and trapshooting. He went on to CSU in Fort Collins, CO, graduating in 2005. There he participated in both trap and skeet shooting, qualifying for Nationals in both. While at CSU, he met lots of new people and enjoyed their company for years to come.

Justin enjoyed the ranch life of cattle, haying and the wide-open country. He worked for Bob Simmons doing daywork and Jim Far ley driving a silage truck for several years. He enjoyed his family and watching his nephews in their endeavors. He coached Matthew in trapshooting, handing down the tradition. Justin loved his dogs, Macy and then his beloved Paisley.

He traveled to Africa in 2013 and then New Zealand in 2020, with his best friend Kelen Lovett. Albert loved being with his friends and making memories. Johnny Double Clutch…

Justin leaves behind his mother Terri Johnston and Bob; sisters Jennifer Prewitt and James and Janelle Albert; nephews Max and Matthew; uncles Bill Albert and-Adele, Jerry Albert, Brian Duba and Corenna, Dusty Duba and Kayla and their son Luke and Butch Duba and Deb; his dog Paisley; and many others.

He was preceded in death by his dad Mike; grandparents Phyllis and Jack Albert and Sharon and Harvey Duba; and his dog Macy.

Memorials may be sent in care of the family to the donor’s or family’s choice. Holmes Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
