A few weeks after the one-year anniversary of his death, a portrait of New York Court of Appeals Judge Paul Feinman, the first openly gay jurist to serve on the state’s high court, was unveiled in Albany on Tuesday.

About 90 people were at the Court of Appeals courtroom for the unveiling, where they heard reflections on Feinman from Chief Judge Janet DiFiore; Justice Deborah A. Kaplan, Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for New York City; Justice Joanne M. Winslow of the Appellate Division, Fourth Department; and Judge Feinman’s husband, Robert Ostergaard.
