'Wow': Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts impressed by legislature's accomplishments during spring session
Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts addressed the state legislature on the final day of the spring session.He said he's impressed with what members of the unicameral have been able to accomplish in 2022."I have just one word for this session and this body. Wow. Wow. What fantastic work you have done in this short, 60-day session," Ricketts said.Ricketts highlighted accomplishments like the tax relief measures that passed near the end of the session.The historic tax relief bill, which passed unanimously in the legislature, cuts $900 million in taxes, slashing individual and corporate income tax rates to 5.84% in five years. It also boosts the property tax credit fund and eliminates the tax on social security income in three years."All success involves teamwork, hard work and tenacity. And this historic tax relief bill today that I'm about to sign involves all that," Ricketts said while signing the bill on April 13.
