2NE1 Minzy opened up about the unexpected warm support they received during their surprise reunion at Coachella.
Six years after 2NE1 officially disbanded, the four-piece K-pop group surprised BLACKJACK and the Coachella attendees by offering a surprise performance. CL was tapped to be part of the 88rising’s Head In The Clouds Forever set, but she made a brave move again by welcoming Bom, Dara, and Minzy on stage.
The legendary K-pop group then performed their hit song I AM THE BEST, marking their first group performance following their epic 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards reunion.
As they received heartwarming support, Minzy emotionally spoke about it and shared her thoughts about the reunion.

2NE1 Minzy Thought They Were Forgotten
2NE1 Minzy recently had an interview with StarNews where she became emotional while recalling the chance they got to perform together again. Per the K-pop star, she felt nostalgic, excited, and happy after seeing the crowd cheer for them again.
She added that before the performance, she was worried that 2NE1 had already been forgotten since they had no longer performed in the past six years.

“It was a performance that we prepared while thinking of our fans who had been waiting for a long time, so I did think that people might like it but part of me also worried whether people would remember us,” she went on. “However, people wound up showing so much interest [in our reunion] that I’m extremely grateful.”
2NE1 disbanded in 2016 after the members got individual issues and plans. Minzy already left the group before the disbandment, while Park Bom started her hiatus in 2014 following her drug issue. Meanwhile, CL and Dara pursued a career in the US and focused on acting career, respectively.
2NE1 Members Reconnected While Preparing For Coachella 2022 Performance
The Lovely singer also noted how they opened up to one another upon learning about their Coachella performance. Minzy said they found out about the plan during CL’s birthday.
While preparing for their record-breaking performance, 2NE1members reportedly had great memories together since they shared their lives again and had serious conversations about their reunion.
“I thought to myself that this [performance] was one page in the story of my life. We worked hard to do our best and put on a cool performance for the fans who had been waiting to see all four of us together—and to remain unchanged in all of your hearts,” she went on.
Minzy did not confirm whether they would reunite again. But she revealed that she is working on new music right now.
