SC Freiburg defender Nico Schlotterbeck has denied claims that he has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund, adding that he will only make his decision at the end of the season.

Nico Schlotterbeck has been heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. And Sky Sport claimed on Tuesday that the Black and Yellows have reached an agreement on personal terms with him. But the German international has denied those rumours, stating that he is only focused on SC Freiburg at the moment.

Schlotterbeck was speaking after helping SC Freiburg reach the DFB-Pokal final for the first time in the club’s history. Freiburg claimed a 3-1 win over Hamburger SV on Tuesday in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal, and will now face one of RB Leipzig and Union Berlin in the final.

"Schlotterbeck told Sky Sport (H/T: Kicker), “I have said I’ll make my decision after the season. Nothing has changed in that regard. At the end of the season, I will sit down with the Freiburg officials and we will discuss everything. But right now, I’m only thinking about SC Freiburg.”"

It was reported earlier on Tuesday that Schlotterbeck has agreed to a five year contract with Borussia Dortmund, and will earn an annual salary of 4.5 million euros at the club. SC Freiburg reportedly want a transfer fee of 25 million euros for the highly rated defender, who has just over one year left on his current contract.

With SC Freiburg now in the DFB-Pokal final and also competing for a place in the top four, it is understandable that Schlotterbeck does not want to focus on the future yet. Christian Streich’s side are enjoying an incredible season, and Schlotterbeck has played a vital role in their success.

Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in signing Schlotterbeck, but Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for his signature.
