Dear Editor:

When Tim Griffin’s mother called and said that Tim would be running for Hamilton County Council, I was pleased because it sounded like a great idea. I was just so glad that Tim was eager for this opportunity to forge new territory. In fact, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that Tim is a great candidate and has been training for this for a couple of decades.

I first got to know Tim in 1993 when as a new student at Clay Junior High School he and my sons became quick friends. Through graduations, weddings, births, and holidays, I’ve watched as our boys have grown into responsible and productive men. I’ll never tire of hearing the praise that the Griffin and Craver boys wouldn’t be outworked.

As a husband and father of five young daughters, he has always amazed me. I have no doubt that he will bring all his life skills and experience to the job. Having grown up and worked in the area for 30 years, he has a formed vision of the Hamilton County that he wants his children, his nephew, his nieces, and his friends’ children to grow up in.

Tim is personable, eager, hardworking, energetic, fun, and most of all – genuine, the trait that ranks at the top of my list for politicians.  His friendliness and approachability are infectious, and he seems fearless, but then, isn’t that what we think about our heroes who are willing to go into burning buildings for us? If you didn’t see his YouTube videos during the pandemic, you must watch him giving tours of the fire house, cooking and exercising with his children, or giving fire safety tips.

Tim takes pride in what he does, and I believe he loves his home. I am proud of him and proud to know him. I hope you will join me in voting for him on May 3.

But, you should also really see him dance!

  1. There are a lot of good people in the County that could serve well, not sure I see anything in this letter from a person unknown-to-me that really makes him a standout candidate. Meanwhile for everyone tired of the iron grip on power some local politicians have, this is not your guy. Griffin is a branch of the Brainard crony group and would make the second Brainard puppet on county council alongside Maki. You can tell by who already had yardsigns out for him weeks ago. That means the power-grip machine was in full fledged planning in 2021 to take this seat. I’m voting for anyone else and term limits.
