Here are the upcoming events that VPD is hosting or participating in:
4/20/2022 at 2 pm, officers will be participating in VictorE Days at the High School. Self Defense Tactics will be shared with students
4/20/2022 at 6 pm Women’s Self Defense Class at Mid-Plains Community College. Designed for Middle School and older. Wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing. Avoid shorts.
4/21/2022 at 8 am Tagg Buechle invited officers to introduce students to Self Defense Techniques in his Life Skills class.
5/12/2022 at 2 pm, Valentine Middle School Students will have an all school assembly. Jennifer Jackson of Heartland Counseling will be sharing information on mental health, substance abuse and suicide prevention.
Following the presentation, students will be invited to an “Impaired Living” event hosted by the area’s drug and alcohol coalition, Healthy Choices 4 Cherry County.
Officer will be facilitating different stations that show students the hazards of making choices that involved drugs and alcohol. Snacks will be served!
5/12/2022 at 6 pm, Jennifer Jackson of Heartland Counseling will be presenting information on mental health wellness, substance abuse, suicide prevention and first responder wellness. The session is geared more toward first responder wellness, but all can benefit from the information. At MPCC. All are welcome!
