Ryan Garcia, Damian Lillard featured in latest Gatorade commercial

April has been quite memorable for Ryan Garcia. 

After returning to the boxing forefront with a dominant victory over Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9 following a 15-month layoff, Garcia is back in the national forefront. 

Monday marked the official launch of Gatorade’s “All G” campaign, and Garcia, of Victorville, is the face of it, alongside NBA superstar Damian Lillard. 

The pair are featured in Gatorade’s latest 30-second commercial advertising Gatorlyte, the company’s newest “rapid rehydration beverage.”

In the clip, Garcia and Lillard, sporting a Portland Trail Blazers shirt, participate in several boxing workouts. The two begin jump roping after Garcia says to Lillard “You know we’re not shooting threes, right?”

“Definitely not shooting threes,” replies Lillard, a six-time All-Star that was named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, which honored the 75 greatest players in league history. 

Lillard is shown drinking from Gatorlyte bottle, before they both are shown running on a treadmill and then hitting various types of boxing punching bags. 

Garcia and Lillard then hit the ring. 

“You ready, Dame,” Garcia asks. Lillard’s nickname is Dame, and he is also a rapper that goes by Dame D.O.L.L.A. 

The boxing sensation is shown taking a drink of Gatorlyte before sparring match as two trainers stand outside of the ropes. 

After telling Lillard he’s a quick learner the two sit above the ring’s apron to finish their workout and “rapidly rehydrate.” 

On Monday, Garcia posted a vlog on his YouTube channel from the shoot, sharing behind the scenes clips.

Garcia added Gatorade to his growing list of endorsements last year, joining the likes list of young star athletes, which includes San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. and New Orleans Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson, just weeks after a dazzling knockout victory over Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell. 

Garcia (22-0, 18 KOs) took a break from action following defeating Campbell to focus on his mental health. A wrist injury postponed his scheduled return last December. 

Since the victory over Tagoe, who had been previously unbeaten in 32 straight bouts, Garcia has said he looks to stay active this year and fight at least two more times. 

Over the weekend, Isaac Cruz beat former champion Yuriorkis Gamboa with a fifth-round knockout. Cruz (23-2-1, 16 KOs) bounced back from a loss last December to Gervonta Davis, who Garcia has long been linked to eventually fight in a 135-pound showdown. 

Garcia stated his desire to fight Cruz, and eventually Davis, who is scheduled to fight Rolando Romero next month. 

“Issac cruz let’s get it on l!! Everyone else has a fight,” Garcia wrote on Twitter before Cruz’s bout with Gamboa. “If you win tomorrow against Gamboa I say we get that one on next!! EARLY JULY?? Or even End of June LETS HAVE IT!!” 

Following the fight, Cruz, nicknamed Pitbull, simply stated that Garcia “has to wait his turn,” through an interpreter. 

“I don’t know what to say Isaac Cruz other than I’m ready now we have a big fight at hand,” Garcia tweeted following Cruz’s post-fight interview. “I guess all Bark no bite??”
