Four transported to hospitals after Metcalfe County crash

BEAUMONT, Ky. – Two adults and two juveniles were transported to hospitals after a crash Monday.

On Monday around 5:20 p.m., the Metcalfe County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single-vehicle crash on KY 1520, about 2.5 miles south of Beaumont.

According to the MCSO, the investigation showed that Brian M. Hunter was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer westbound on KY 1520 when the passenger side dropped off the westbound shoulder. The driver then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle, which overturned multiple times and ejected a passenger.

Kayla M. Hunter was transported to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

Brian Hunter and two juvenile passengers were transported to TJ Sampson Hospital in Glasgow. One juvenile passenger was later flown to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.

MCSO said seatbelts and child passenger safety seats were in use at the time of the collision, and alcohol was not a factor.

The collision remains under investigation.
