Man arrested after burying his Hummer in Washington County to claim insurance money

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — It's something the Washington County Sheriff says he hasn't seen in all his years a car buried underground.

The Sheriff says Bruce Parnell buried the car so that he could claim insurance money.

Parnell was arrested Tuesday.

They say they've had their eyes on Parnell for a while now and he may have collected money on upwards of 15 insurance claims over the years.

According to jail log Bruce Parnell is being charged with False Reporting to Law Enforcement Officer and Insurance Fraud.
