The Chicago Cubs continue to add to their long list of bullpen arms on Monday night with the signing of right-handed pitcher Luke Farrell to a minor league deal, according to Chris Hilburn-Trenkle of Baseball America.
Farrell is a familiar face with the Cubs, entering his second stint with the North Siders. In 2018 for Chicago, the righty appeared in 20 games, throwing 31.1 innings with 39 strikeouts and a 5.17 ERA.
In five major league seasons for Farrell, he’s posted a 4.93 ERA in nearly 88 innings, while striking out 93 batters.
The Cubs have signed several new arms since the beginning of the offseason, with Farrell being the next addition. If he can keep the walks and home runs down from his previous seasons, don’t be surprised to see him eating innings later this year at Wrigley.
