Several Northeast Georgia COVID testing sites to close this week

District 2 Public Health has announced several COVID-19 testing sites across Northeast Georgia are set to close this week.

A press release from the health department said Mako Labs and LTS will close testing sites at the following locations in the coming days:

  • Franklin County Health Department - Last day in operation is April 21
  • Lumpkin County Health Department - Last day in operation is April 21
  • Habersham County Medical Center - Last day in operation is April 21
  • Stephens County Hospital - Last day in operation is April 22
  • Northeast Georgia Health System in Braselton - Last day in operation is April 22
  • Rabun Community Market - Last day in operation is April 22

Three testing sites will remain open, including the site at Central Park Recreation Complex in Forsyth County, the Hall County testing site at Sherwood Plaza and the Union County testing site at Union General Hospital.

The release said that while some testing sites are closing, the fight against COVID-19 is not over.

"District 2 Public Health will continue to provide COVID vaccines at all 13 county health departments on a walk-in basis," the release said.
