Drew Lachey performs with the band 98 Degrees, in front of a sold-out crowd at the Hard Rock Casino Cincinnati on Friday, December 17, 2021.

Interested in receiving coaching sessions from local musical legends? First, you'll have to win CincyJams, a battle of the bands competition.

Coming from the local arts organization ArtsWave, CincyJams is described as the region's "first workplace Battle of the Bands," which will bring employees together from businesses across the region to play music and cheer on co-workers while raising money for local arts.

The top two bands (the fan-favorite, selected by audience applause and the fan-funded, selected by funds raised to support the arts) will receive the opportunity to perform on stage at Blink, the arts, light and culture festival.

The winning fan-favorite band will receive pairs of tickets to this year's Cincinnati Music Festival, where Charlie Wilson and Janet Jackson are headliners. Winning bands will also receive Hard Rock merchandise and tickets to arts events around the region.

Bootsy Collins kicks off the 2018 Cincinnati Music Festival at Paul Brown Stadium.

And there's another, pretty lucrative prize: prior to the recording session, they will receive two one-on-one coaching sessions, one with the family of Bootsy Collins and the other from Drew Lachey.

Workplaces are allowed to have one or more bands representing them, and all participants must be 21 or older. Participating companies will have at least two employees, and the competition encourages friends and family to join.
