The Toronto Raptors will be without their rookie sensation in Game 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Things went from bad to worse for the Raptors in Game 1. Suffering a 20-point loss to fall behind 1-0 in the series is one thing, but potentially losing three key rotation players presents a whole different problem.

Veteran forward Thaddeus Young was limited to just six minutes after leaving the game early with a thumb injury. In the fourth quarter, Joel Embiid stepped on Scottie Barnes' left foot, forcing the star rookie off the floor with what was later deemed an ankle sprain. Sharpshooter Gary Trent Jr. didn't look like himself the entire night, and it was revealed on Sunday that he is dealing with a non-COVID illness.

During media availability on Sunday, Toronto head coach Nick Nurse didn't present much confidence in the Raptors having any member of that trio available for Game 2 on Monday.

In a positive update ahead of Monday's game, Trent and Young were ruled available, while Barnes remains out.

Nurse said that, if Barnes is out, he'll likely add another ball-handler like Malachi Flynn or Armoni Brooks to the rotation. He also mentioned that, if Trent is also out, both Flynn and Brooks could crack the rotation.

As for the frontcourt, if Young isn't available to suit up, Nurse said that he will look to Precious Achiuwa, Chris Boucher and Khem Birch to take on more minutes.

While the MRI results for Barnes' ankle and Young's thumb will give us a better understanding of their availability, it appears the Raptors are preparing to play without them.

Toronto will take on the 76ers in Philadelphia for Game 2 on Monday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
