Over the weekend, Phoebe Bridgers made her Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival debut at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. The performance featured a Punisher-heavy setlist and a sit-in by British singer and poet Arlo Parks.

The set kicked off with a recording of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” followed by “Motion Sickness” off Bridgers’ 2017 debut LP, Stranger in the Alps. The 27-year-old rocker then busted into tunes from her 2020 album, Punisher, including “DVD Menu,” “Garden Song,” and “Kyoto,” before performing the LP’s title track.

Midway through the 12-song set, Bridgers played “Scott Street” and “Chinese Satelite.” She followed with “Moon Song” and ICU” before performing “Sidelines,” a song she debuted days prior, on April 13 at Arizona Federal Theatre in Phoenix. Read the full story here.

The final two songs of Bridgers’ Coachella debut saw her welcome Parks on stage to take on “Graceland Too” and “I Know the End.” The latter released her debut LP Collapsed in Sunbeams in 2021. The album was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
