INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 74-74) only mustered two hits in another blowout loss to Columbus (Guardians), 7-1. RHP Quinn Priester (1-1, 3.86) started and went 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on three hits, including a home run, walking five and striking out four. RHP Colin Selby (3.00) followed and went two-thirds of an inning, striking out two while allowing no hits or runs. RHP Jeremy Beasley (2.61) allowed three runs on two hits and one walk without recording an out. RHP Junior Fernandez (4.87) went an inning, gave up one hit and fanned two. RHPs John O’Reilly (5.84) and Nick Mears (4.74) each went an inning and allowed no runs or hits. CF Jared Oliva (.266) scored the only Indianapolis run in the bottom of the first off a Columbus throwing error. LF Brendt Citta (.264) and RF Travis Swaggerty (.256) each hit a single and were the only Indians to get hits. 2B Tucupita Marcano (.287) went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts and 1B Mason Martin (.211) went 0 for 2 with a walk.

C Endy Rodriguez (.455) smacked his first home run in Triple-A with a solo shot in the top of the sixth, finishing the scoring for the Indians. Over three levels, Rodriguez slashed .323/.407/.997 with 25 home runs, 95 RBIs, 92 runs scored and four stolen bases in 125 games this season. RF Travis Swaggerty (.254) walked in the first and scored on a wild pitch to give Indianapolis an early lead. RHP Mike Burrows (1-4, 5.31) started, went two-thirds of an inning and allowed six runs on five hits, one walk and one home run to take the loss. RHP Cody Bolton (3.09) pitched an inning and allowed one run on one hit, walked two and struck out one. 3B Hunter Owen (.246) hit a solo home run in the top of fifth, his first. LHP Joe Jacques (3.62) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out three, and RHP Noe Toribio (6.75) allowed one hit and struck out one in his one inning of work. 2B Aaron Shackelford (.063) went 0 for 4 with three strikeouts and 1B Mason Martin (.210) went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts.
TORONTO (AP) — When Aaron Judge’s American League record-tying 61st home run dropped into Toronto’s bullpen, coach Matt Buschmann picked it up. “Bad news is I’m down here in Florida battling a hurricane, but the good news is I can announce my retirement,” tweeted Buschmann’s wife, Sara Walsh, a Fox Sports reporter and former ESPN anchor. Then Buschmann and Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano passed it to Yankees reliever Zack Britton, who made sure it got to Judge. Walsh then added: “Oh cool. He just handed that back without checking to see if our house is still here? I’d next like to announce our divorce.”
