This was not the 2021-22 NBA season that the New York Knicks were expecting, especially after making some moves in the offseason.

After finishing as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference a year ago, the Knicks failed to qualify for the postseason. After a 5-1 start, it was a nosedive full of inconsistencies and let-downs. This was led by some of their newcomers in the backcourt.

Kemba Walker was signed to take over the point guard position but could not get it going in his hometown. Walker was taken out of the rotation at one point, then put back in, and could not turn things around late in the season. There were some bright spots for the Knicks; their season was a failure.

As for the LA Clippers, they qualified for play in action during the postseason and did so without Kawhi Leonard. He continues to rehab from the injury that he suffered late last season.

Paul George also missed his fair share of time this season and was ultimately unable to participate in the Clippers’ play-in game to qualify for the playoffs.

The Clippers have been unable to nail down the point guard position, which is why they signed Reggie Jackson to a contract last year. If they aren’t ready for Jason Preston to take a bench role, the team could acquire a veteran option as a stopgap.

With Jackson employees, the LA Clippers could be looking to solidify the second unit coming off the bench. Let’s take a look and see how Walker might land in Los Angeles to do just that.
