WALNUT, Calif. -- Michigan's indoor All-Americans from the winter continued to maintain their high standard of excellence on day two at the Mt. SAC Relays as they gear up to begin their runs toward matching outdoor honors.

The All-American 800-meter duo of Miles Brown and Cole Johnson both cracked the all-time U-M top-10, Joshua Zeller posted two more fast performances in the 110-meter hurdles, and Dubem Amene ran another quick time in his signature 400-meter race.

Brown and Johnson finished second and fourth overall, respectively, in a race in which places two through six were separated by less than a second. Brown emerged as the runner-up in an outdoor career-best 1:48.04, followed closely by Johnson in a PR 1:48.24.

The times moved them to No. 6 and No. 8 in Michigan outdoor history, respectively, and put them in strong position to qualify for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds. The East Prelims are reserved for the top 48 individuals in each event, and serve as the opening rounds for the national championships.

After a 13.71 into a stiff -1.4m/s headwind for third place in the final and a 13.70 (+1.7m/s) from the prelims, Zeller now owns fully half of the 10 fastest wind-legal (2.0m/s or weaker tailwind) times in school history.

Though Amene did not run as fast as his 46.07 from last weekend at Duke, his 46.45 for 13th place at Mt. SAC on Friday was faster than all but five other men in school history have ever run. He will return Saturday for both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.

Cassidy Henshaw headlined the field action with a fifth-place finish at 2.10m (6-10.75), which he cleared on his third-and-final attempt. Also placing top-10 was Bera Ajala in the triple jump, who leapt out to 14.96m (49-1) (+0.2m/s) for ninth place.

The final day at Mt. SAC begins Saturday (April 16) at 12:20 p.m. PT with the 4x100 relay and concludes at 5:10 p.m. PT with the 4x400 relay.
