2022 Great American Cleanup Set

DODGE CITY, Ks (WesternKansasNews.Com) – Join the City of Dodge City to keep Dodge City beautiful by recycling on Saturday, April 23. Dodge City’s Recycling Advisory Board and Community Recycling Environmental Waste (CREW) will be at the Jane Longmeyer Recycling Center to accept your recycled products during their Great American Cleanup event.

The Recycling Advisory Board has partnered once again with multiple agencies to provide a wide range of recycling opportunities for the public.

Ford County Household Hazardous Waste will be set up for safe disposal of household hazardous waste. Bring your unwanted paint products, automotive products, pesticides, herbicides, batteries, etc., – anything flammable and poisonous that you no longer need. Empty containers can be disposed of in your trash can. This program is free, and their regular hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at 10972 113 Rd. Call 227-4525 if you need further information.

Old electronics (E-Waste) – computers, VCR’s, phones, desktop copiers/printers, scanners, and flat-screen televisions are now accepted at the center for recycling at all times. If anyone has questions or needs further information on the e-waste drop-off, please contact the Public Works staff at 225-8170.

The Dodge City Police Department will be on-site to accept unwanted/outdated prescription medications. The service is free and anonymous; no questions asked.

Also available, the Ford County Humane Society will be accepting donations of good condition and clean pet crates, beds, towels, blankets, leashes, collars, food bowls, and food.

Lastly, CREW will be accepting flower vases to be donated for reuse.

The Dodge City Recycling Advisory Board hopes that everyone will take this special Saturday opportunity to clean their property and safely dispose of the items with these sponsors. For additional information, contact Corey Keller, Keep Dodge City Beautiful Coordinator, at 225-8170.
