Easter egg hunt is Saturday afternoon

Holyoke’s annual Easter egg hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, at 1 p.m. in three locations. Age 6 and under will be at the Phillips County Court House lawn, sponsored by Holyoke Lions Club. Students in grades 1 and 2 can meet at Holyoke City Park, sponsored by American Legion Post 90. Grades 3 and 4 will hunt for eggs at the school practice football field, sponsored by VFW Post 6482.

 

Siren testing is next Thursday

Emergency sirens will be tested Thursday, April 21, in Holyoke at 10 a.m., in Paoli at 10:15 a.m. and in Haxtun at 10:30 a.m. If the siren testing cannot be completed due to inclement weather, it will be done Friday, April 22, instead.

Also on Thursday, Phillips County will be testing its emergency alert system from 6:30-7 a.m. A countywide alert will also be tested at 6:30 p.m.

 

Students get 4-day weekend for Easter

Holyoke School District will not have school Friday, April 15, or Monday, April 18, due to the Easter holiday.

Attorney general in town next Wednesday

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser will be in Holyoke at the Phillips County Event Center on Wednesday, April 20, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. for a town hall meeting with the public. The topics will be open to the floor, but he will be discussing water, fentanyl and opioid settlement that involve Phillips County.
