Blondie has a busy touring schedule in the coming months, but Debbie Harry and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends will do so without Chris Stein, who announced that he will be sitting out the tour due to some health issues.
Stein shared the unfortunate news to social media on Thursday:
I’m sad and frustrated to report that I’m not going out with the next bunch of Blondie touring. I’ve been dealing with a dumbass condition called Arterial Fibrillation or AFib which is irregular hear beats and combined with the meds I take for it I’m too fatigued to deal. I’m still all in with recording and other band projects and I should be out for discussions etc. later on.
The band will be great and Glen Matlock will be joining them on bass.
That’s it, I’m fine, I’m around here and I love you all
Yes, (murmur of the heart) this is indeed frustrating cause my brain is working great but my body's not up to the task of touring now 🤯
I'm fine though and I'll see you around regardless pic.twitter.com/J90t4VTMlp— Cʜʀɪs Sᴛᴇɪɴ (@chrissteinplays) April 14, 2022
Stein added more on Instagram:
Yeah, I’m sorry I’m not gonna make the next round of Blondie shows. I hate to disappoint supporters and the band but there it is, I’ve got this stupid heart murmur thing which is tiring as hell. You might remember I was sitting down during the last tours, that was why. My brain is doing great and I’ve been writing during covid. The memoir has a deal in place in the UK and US pending.
I ♥️ you all

Best wishes of healing go out to Chris Stein on his treatment and recovery.
