AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) - After a cold start, conditions today will be sunny with afternoon highs in the middle 70s. FIRE WEATHER WARNINGS will be in effect again today for all but Hall, Childress, & Cottle counties from 2-8PM CDT. Winds will gust to 45 MPH from the SW. Everyone is encouraged to avoid activities that could start a fire today and tomorrow.
More fire concerns are anticipated for Friday with afternoon highs in the middle 80s and a west wind at 20-30 MPH gusting to 45 at times.
A cold front will arrive Saturday morning before the sun comes up and will start the weekend off on a cool note. Afternoon highs are expected to struggle to reach the low 60s.
Easter Sunday looks to be a spectacular afternoon. Winds go by the wayside and afternoon temperatures make a run for the 80 degree mark.
