Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet has taken a dig at Paris Saint-Germain's style of play under Mauricio Pochettino, claiming the Ligue 1 giants are "not organised" like his side.

Marseille, who are second in the league, travel to Parc des Princes to face PSG on Sunday as they look to cut their opponents' lead at the top.

Speaking to RMC Sport ahead of the much-anticipated clash, Payet opened up on comparisons between the styles of the two sides, noting that Marseille have an advantage in that aspect.

He said: "We have been playing the same way since the start of the season. They are starting from behind yes. But they don’t have a really defined style of play. They have possession because they have the players for it, but they’re not organised like us.”

Marseille have enjoyed a resurgence under manager Jorge Sampaoli this season. Not only are they second in Ligue 1, but they also rank second in terms of the amount of possession each game in France's top flight with 61.2% of the ball per outing.

Payet has been at his playmaking best for his side this season, scoring 13 goals and registering 12 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions so far. He will be key if his side are to come away with all three points on Sunday night.

A win for Marseille on Sunday will cut PSG's lead at the top of the table to nine points, though Pochettino's side still remain favourites to win the title as we head into the business end of the season.
