Buffalo Gap man killed in two-vehicle crash near Tuscola

TUSCOLA — A Buffalo Gap man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday about two miles east of here, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety news release.

Pronounced dead at the scene was Randall G. Wheeler, 68.

Eddie W. Croft, 45, of Coleman was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado south on U.S. Highway 84 at about 6:15 a.m. when the truck struck the driver's side door of Wheeler's  2013 Hyundai Sonata as he was turning onto the highway from FM 613, the release said.  

Wheeler was not wearing a seat belt, DPS said. 

The preliminary DPS report did not indicate if the pickup driver sustained injuries, but he was wearing a seat belt. 

DPS continues to investigate the crash.
