Former New Mexico State men's basketball star Trevelin Queen has made waves in the NBA G League this season, but Tuesday night, the former Aggie made a splash.

Queen scored a career-high 44 points along with seven rebounds and three assists to power the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to a 145-128 win over the Delaware Blue Coats in game one of the G League Finals, sparking ecstatic reactions from the NMSU faithful. His 44 points were the second-most ever scored in a G League Finals game and come one week after he was named this season's G League MVP.

NMSU senior Trevelin Queen (21) celebrates after a big dunk as the New Mexico State Aggies face off against the Cal Baptist Lancers at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

Queen was subbed out after the Vipers took a 20-plus point lead in the final nine minutes, and his team cruised to the finish line. Game two will take place Thursday in Delaware at 7 p.m. Central Time on ESPNews.
