Many celebrities and musicians have opened up about their tragic childhoods, and Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro is not an exception as he revealed a shocking thing that happened at school, but his mom made a move that changed his life forever.
In an interview with Chuck Shute, the band member said they were asked to write a story when he was 13 or 14 years old.
He then composed a "very aggressive story" where he described a metal festival with "loud guitars, mud, skulls, and blood."
After finishing the story, the principal asked his mom to go to school for a meeting. The school supervisor suggested that Loureiro had a problem and needed to be taken to a psychologist for therapy.
"I was like 13 or 14, and then of course, the principal from the school asked my mother to go there for a meeting. She said, 'Your son probably has a problem, you have to take him to a psychologist or something,'" the musician recalled.
Instead of taking him to therapy, his mom gave him an electric guitar because a classical guitar was not enough.
"My classical guitar teacher said to my mother, 'Buy him a guitar. He's into rock now.' And then I went to start having lessons," he added. (via Noise Creep)

How Did Kiko Loureiro Become a Part of Megadeth?
In a previous interview with Duke TV, the guitarist recalled how he joined "Megadeth."
According to Metal Castle, the Brazilian musician said he received a call from bassist David Ellefson and immediately called his wife and other bandmates in Angra.
After the call with the musician, he got the part quickly without auditioning.
When his then-bandmates found out the news, they were supportive of him as they believed it was a great opportunity and he should accept it.
He moved to Nashville for a month to do pre-production and recordings before going straight to Japan to perform.
Speaking about his relationship with Angra in recent years, Loureiro said he's still "kind of" part of the band because of their friendship.
Bruno Valverde did the drums for his previous solo album, and Felipe Andreoli always plays his solo music whenever he does his trio shows.
Before accepting Megadeth's offer, he was a part of the band from 1994 to 2015.
