An exciting relocation and expansion process is underway for Harper Veterinary Services. Harper Vet is currently located in Cordell at 120 S College St, but will soon move to 1209 N Glenn English St. However, their large animal facility, east of town, will remain at its current location.

Harper Vet was founded in 2017 and has operated out of the downtown location since 2019.

Dr. Kyle Harper’s goal was to provide somewhere for the community to receive general veterinary care locally for their pets.

His ambitions were successful. So successful, in fact, that they are having to relocate in order to continue offering quality client experience.

“We did not anticipate the growth very well. It’s a fantastic issue to have to solve, but this building is limited on the space we need. After we hired Dr. Weichel, business really kicked up,” stated Mackenzie Harper, Harper Vet Co-Owner.

With the new location, the waiting room will be larger which in turn will provide a more comfortable space for clients. There will be more room for kennels along with additional exam rooms.

With this expansion, Harper Vet hopes to possibly be able to provide pet boarding in the future.

Not only will the new location significantly benefit the mission and overall goal for Harper Vet, but it may also bring job openings to Washita County. “The main problem

“The main problem we run into here is we have three [employees]; there’s someone checking in, checking out, there’s someone in the exam room, you can’t hear each other and we want to be able to provide a better experience and to be able to communicate properly with our clients. That’s really our big goal behind expansion,” said Dr. Devyn Weichel.

Mackenzie said they are currently working with a contractor and hope to be open and operating out of the 1209 location by late summer, but no later than fall.
