Gloria Ann Nichols, age 69, died of natural causes at the home of a close family friend in Las Cruses, NM on Saturday, March 26th surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Marianna, Florida on August 25, 1952.

Gloria was a long time resident of Pie Town, New Mexico where she lived with her husband since leaving her childhood hometown of Cottondale, Florida after she retired in 2009. She graduated from Georgetown University with a Master’s degree in Project Management and retired after a 30 year career in telecommunications.

Gloria was a strong Christian woman who profoundly loved her family, cared deeply about nature, and had a love of rocks and crystals.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Watford; her brothers Charles “Dennis” Jones and Timmy Jones; and many other family members.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Edward Nichols; her brother Johnny Jones (spouse Debbie Jones); her sisters Mary Scott (spouse Floyd Scott), Rachel Anson, and Judy Powell; her children Kereashia Carter (spouse James Carter), Joseph Besczezynski (fiancé Ronda Booth), Robin Besczezynski, Stephen Nichols (spouse Bonnie Nichols), Jamie George (spouse Anjie George), and Julie George; her grandchildren Jacob Crum (spouse Jillian Crum), Timothy “TJ” Carter, Kriston Martin (spouse Wade Martin), Adam Crum, Shelby Carter, Ashley Reed (spouse Daniel Reed), Chase Besczezynski (spouse Meagan Besczezynski), Jordin Besczezynski (spouse LeAnn Besczezynski), MacKenzie Besczezynski (fiancé Alexa Hoover), Kira Benton (fiancé Charlie Cook), Emily Besczezynski, Drake Jones, Kaitlyn George (fiancé Austin Mallory), Colby Godwin (spouse Haley Godwin), Shelby Godwin (spouse Amber Godwin), Kole Sims (spouse Tiffany Sims), Kody Sims, and Alyssa Sims; her 20 great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Cottondale Community Center located at 2666 Front Street, Cottondale, Florida to be officiated by Pastor Dr. John Vennell with a reception to immediately follow.
