STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Capt. Colin, reporting for duty.

“Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost took his recently purchased decommissioned Staten Island Ferry boat for a spin around New York Harbor on Monday alongside his 96-year-old grandfather, according to multiple reports.

The ship, which is unable to move under its own power, was towed by two tug boats.

Jost — who in January bought the John F. Kennedy ship with fellow Staten Islander and “Saturday Night Live” cast member Pete Davidson and comedy club owner Paul Italia for $280,000 — boarded the vessel in St. George and rode it around the harbor for a photo-op before it was brought to Caddell Dry Dock and Repair in West Brighton, according to the New York Post.

The trio are hoping to turn the old ferry into an entertainment venue, although it could take several years for that dream to be realized.

Jost told the Post the ship was a particular source of nostalgia; he rode “this exact boat every morning at 7 a.m. to go into high school in the city.” Jost is a graduate of Regis High School in Manhattan.

According to the Post, Monday’s jaunt was the first time the ship was moved since Jost, Davidson and Italia bought it.

Caddell Dry Dock is just a temporary home for the beloved former ferry. The group is still searching for a permanent dock.

“[The ferry has] a safe place to stay afloat while they decide what their plans are,” Steve Kalil, head of Caddell Dry Dock and Repair, told the Post on Monday.

In case you missed it, an official from Brookhaven, Long Island, has reportedly offered to dock the ship.
