Bar Piña, inside the Goodwin Hotel at 1 Haynes St. in downtown Hartford, will reopened Wednesday, serving a limited menu from the adjoining restaurant Terreno, its proprietor, Tyler Anderson, announced.

The bar has been closed, except for a few weeks, since COVID lockdown began in March 2020. “We tried to open it a couple of times, but with the flare-ups it’s been tough,” he said. “It didn’t work out, so we closed it again.”

The Italian eatery Terreno, which used to be a Spanish restaurant called Porron, serves Italian classics, pastas, “pizettes” and small bites. Small bites, pizzettes and pastas will be served at Piña, Anderson said, though the restaurant isn’t yet open to dining.

Piña’s hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 5 to 9 p.m. for food service and open later for bar service. Happy hours are 5 to 6:30 p.m. Terreno will open at the end of the summer. At that time, Piña will open six days a week.

“Summers in Hartford are never wonderful for the business. We didn’t want to open Terreno right now because of that,” Anderson said. “We’ll wait to open at the end.”
