Former Ohio State Buckeyes basketball players Greg Oden and Jon Diebler are joining former Xavier Musketeers head coach Thad Matta's coaching staff at Butler, according to a report Tuesday from IndyStar.com's David Woods.

Last week, former Xavier Musketeers assistant coach Mike Pegues, Louisville's interim head coach this past season and a Cardinals' assistant since 2018, joined Matta's staff at Butler. Pegues was an assistant with the Muskies under Chris Mack from 2012 until he left with then-head coach Mack for UofL in 2018.

Matta was at XU from 2001 to 2004. Earlier this month, he replaced LaVall Jordan as the Bulldogs' head coach.

Matta, 54, was a Miami University assistant in 1994-95 and again in 1996-97. He was the Ohio State Buckeyes' head coach from 2004 until 2017.
