Dylan Moses Waived By Jacksonville Jaguars

Former Crimson Tide linebacker Dylan Moses has been waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network.

Moses, who went undrafted in 2021 and signed with the Jaguars as a free agent, failed to see the field in his rookie year, instead remaining on the non-football injury list. Though expected to be ready to compete for the upcoming season, Jacksonville has decided to move on from the former All-American.

Moses joined the Crimson Tide in 2017 as a five-star recruit from IMG Academy in Florida. In his freshman season, Moses immediately made an impact, finishing the year with 30 tackles, 5.5 TFL's and an interception, but suffered a broken foot that ended his season early.

In his first year as a starter, 2018, Moses was a finalist for the Butkus Award with 86 tackles, 10 TFL's and 3.5 sacks. Heading into 2019 with massive expectations, disaster unfortunately struck and Moses suffered a knee injury that sidelined him the entire year.

Despite some expecting Moses to capitalize on his potential draft stock, the linebacker returned for a senior season, but again battled with injury. While it wasn't revealed until the conclusion of his final year, Moses played most of 2020 with a torn meniscus.

The veteran linebacker's numbers struggled as a result of the injury and his once promising draft stock plummeted ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft.

While the injury history is certainly troubling with a player like Moses, this is the first time he's been fully healthy since 2018 when he finished as a finalist for the Butkus Award and should be able to find an opportunity with another team.

Whether or not Moses can hold up to the rigors of the NFL has yet to be seen, but for now the linebacker is healthy for the first time in a long time and will be looking for an opportunity.
