Jeremy Irons Will Reportedly Make His DCEU Return in The Flash

One of the highly-anticipated upcoming films is The Flash as it will be the titular hero's first-ever solo adventure on the big screen and also feature the return of Michael Keaton's Batman since it is expected to tackle the multiverse. Just like any other DC projects, most of the details are still under wraps although a new rumor has now emerged regarding the upcoming film which reveals the return of a DCEU character.

According to prominent online scooper ViewerAnon, Jeremy Irons is set to make his return as Alfred Pennyworth in The Flash. However, they didn't provide more details regarding how big the Oscar-winning actor's appearance will be in the upcoming film. We do have to take note that the report has not been confirmed by Warner Bros. nor DC so we have to take it with a grain of salt.

Assuming that the scoop is true, it is not surprising to hear that Irons might show up in the film since Ben Affleck is confirmed to be appearing and, as we all know, Batman and Alfred always go hand-in-hand most of the time. There is a chance that Irons might only have minimal screentime since Affleck is also not expected to have a bigger role unlike Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, and Keaton. It would be interesting to see how the DCEU's Alfred will play into the film even in smaller screentime.

Unfortunately, there have been discussions about the film recently due to Miller's controversies which have posed the question if they will make some changes to address their issues and there are also reports that their future in the DCEU has been put on hold. It remains to be seen for now if Warner Bros. and DC will take some actions as a result of the PR-nightmare potential controversy once it gets released.

The film centers on Barry Allen as he travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, which brings unintended consequences to his timeline. Ezra Miller, Ron Livington, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, Maribel Verdu, and Ben Affleck are starring. Andy Muschietti directs from a script by Christina Hodson.
