Steen signed a two-year, $1.6 million deal with Boston on Sunday.
Steen's new contract will be a one-way deal and it will go into effect next season. The 24-year-old has bounced between the AHL and NHL levels regularly this season and he's scored six points in 19 appearances with Boston.
