Rep. Jay Obernolte to speak at Redlands Republican Women’s Club meeting

Rep. Jay Obernolte will speak when the Redlands Republican Women’s Club meets 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, at the Redlands Country Club, 1749 Garden St.

The meeting includes lunch, but people are also welcome to attend only the after-lunch program to hear the speaker.

Obernolte, who lives in Big Bear Lake, represents California’s 8th Congressional District, including the High Desert, eastern Sierras and part of the Inland Empire.

Before serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, he represented California’s 33rd Assembly District and was mayor of Big Bear Lake, according to a news release.

He also owns a video game development studio and is a certified flight instructor and a teacher of martial arts.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and applied science from the California Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in artificial intelligence from UCLA and a doctorate in public administration from California Baptist University.
