Movie starring Orlando Bloom, Andie MacDowell shooting in Henry County
A usually quiet Henry County has been filled with the chatter of Hollywood sightings and famous actors walking the streets.
"Very exciting for our little town to be featured in a major film with the stars," Debbie Hogan said.
A film called "Red Right Hand" is being filmed in Campbellsburg and New Castle. The movie stars include Orlando Bloom and Andie MacDowell.
The film centers around Bloom who stars as Cash. Cash is trying to live a quiet life taking care of his niece Savannah in the Appalachian hills of Odim County. MacDowell, who stars as Queenpin Big Cat, forces Cash back into her services and Cash is "drawn into a nightmare that blurs the lines between good and evil."
This isn't the first time Bloom has shot a movie in Kentucky. He also filmed in Elizabethtown in 2005, and fans are hoping to get another glimpse of him on or off the set.
"I feel like a lot of people are like where is he staying? Where is he?" said Payton Sprabary, Spruced Salon.
"There's been sightings according to some of our regulars. They have come in and said did you see him? We drove by, and we saw him working," said Judy Noel, New Castle Tavern.
Some businesses say the filming has provided an economic boost.
"It brought outside business, and we got to meet some of the different members coming in and out of the movie and travelers who came to watch the production," said Stephanie McGuire, Lawson's Family Restaurant.
Businesses like New Castle Tavern say the film has put a spotlight on others too.
"They have done such a great job of tapping into local resources and using local businesses, local churches, local farms, so I really appreciate not only are they in town but they are really trying to support the community around," Noel said.
