Klay Thompson has scored 69 points in his past two contests, which is a nice indicator he’s finding a rhythm.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers joined 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” Friday to discuss Klay’s latest run of success, his apology to fans and more. Check out the full interview below:

“I think the thing that makes you excited about what he’s doing is that you can foresee him still doing that in the playoffs,” Myers said. “That’s what’s unique. Scoring in the playoffs is hard. Scoring in the playoffs is not easy, because the defense is great and they’re giving maximum effort.”

It’s been three years since Thompson appeared in a playoff game, as he tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. He definitely has the playoff pedigree, with three rings and five Finals trips under his belt.

Though Thompson is posting a 42.3% field goal percentage and career-low 37.9% clip from 3-point range, he has made 26-of-50 shots (52%) over the past two contests.

Myers said that Thompson’s game in particular translates well to the postseason.

“The way he scores with relatively little space needed is very valuable,” Myers said. “That’s why our fans love him. It’s just that shot, you think it’s going in every time no matter where he’s shooting in from, no matter who’s in his face, no matter how far away he is. It’s a big weapon and if he can keep that consistency up, which we’ve seen more of lately, then having him out there, the other team’s going to have to deal with that. That’s another weapon for Steve and the staff to utilize."

Myers also relayed a recent conversation he had with Thompson in the gym while he was struggling and sitting during a back-to-back.

“‘I tell you one thing I’m not gonna do,’” Klay told Myers. “I said, ‘What?’ He goes, ‘Quit.’ That’s who this guy is. That’s who he is. He’s just gonna keep at it. You knew it was going to come around. I’m happy for him. It helps our team, too.”

Myers said he talked to Thompson about his recent comments that some new Warriors fans don’t deserve to root for the franchise. Klay eventually issued an apology to Dub Nation via his Instagram Live.

“He just has such a deep connection with the fans so I’m glad he kinda said, ‘Hey, I love all fans,’” Myers said. “He’s serious about what he does. And he does appreciate the fans. Some players just say that, but he really does have a connection with the fans.”
