Our favorite day of the week has finally arrived. Happy New Music Friday! A good number of highly-anticipated releases make their way onto this week's playlist, like Jack Harlow's “First Class," Chloë's “Treat Me," and Maggie Rogers' epic return with new song “That's Where I Am.”

Leading this week's NMF is “First Class," which has already gone viral from a barely-15-seconds-long teaser the rapper shared on TikTok. “First Class” is already an irresistibly catchy contender for song of the summer, thanks largely in part to its sample of Fergie's 2006 smash hit “Glamorous.” TikTok user @themorivita posted a video sharing their excitement for the new track, writing, “I can't believe ‘Glamorous’ sampled could be this good,” calling it the "#HarlowEffect.” The Harlow Effect, indeed! A follow up to February's “Nail Tech,” “First Class” is the second single to be released from Harlow's upcoming sophomore album Come Home the Kids Miss You, expected May 6.

This week also sees new drops from Omar Apollo, BIA & J. Cole, Doechii, Lauv, and ericodoa. Well, let's get to it!

Tap into our roundup of this week's best new music below.

Jack Harlow, “First Class”

I, too, would like Jack Harlow to put me in first class.

The full version of “First Class" has finally arrived, and Harlow continues to win over listeners with his charming duality: effortlessly showcased as the rapper goes from a risqué line about pineapple juice to praising UPS and delivery personnel seven bars later. It's the Harlow-and-Fergie combo on the chorus that makes the song what it is, but with standout bars like, “You don't need Givenchy / You need Jesus,” and the ultimate White Boy of the Month crossover. “Can't lie, I'm on Angus, Cloud 9," there's one thing for sure — Jack Harlow knows how to make a hit.

Chloë, “Treat Me”

In a follow up to September 2021's “Have Mercy,” Chloë has dropped the long-awaited “Treat Me,” which she teased back in March. Chloë delivers a high-energy no-settling anthem for the girls, making her standards for a relationship clear as day in the chorus: “Treat me like I treat me.”

Period!

It's a big day for Chloë — the singer released the music video for “Treat Me” at midnight, and also has a new song with rapper Fivio Foreign and KayCyy, titled “Hello," out today.

Maggie Rogers, “That's Where I Am”

Maggie Rogers makes a grand return with “That's Where I Am” the first single from her upcoming second studio album Surrender, set to be released on July 29. A music video to accompany the song has also been released, co-directed by Rogers herself. We watch as Rogers hosts her own fashion show in a sprawling New York City apartment, trying on outfit after outfit before settling on a grunge-inspired plaid skirt and ripped tank combo… complete with green feather boa, of course.

By the song's bass drop, Manhattan has become Rogers' runway. A love letter to NYC, the visual for “That's Where I Am” shows Rogers at her best. The new record is a spirited alt-pop dream, and sounds exactly like the freedom Rogers' second album is named after.

Omar Apollo, Ivory

Possibly the most highly-anticipated release on this week's playlist is Omar Apollo's debut studio album Ivory. The singer-songwriter's 16-track album features previously released singles like “Go Away," “Bad Life” featuring Kali Uchis, and “Invincible” featuring Daniel Caesar.

ICYMI: Omar Apollo has drawn comparisons to Frank Ocean, D'Angelo, and Prince by Rolling Stone, and was lauded as “one of the most electric live performers of his generation” by GQ

Yeah… if you haven't tapped in to the magic of Omar, yet, now is the time.

You can catch the 24-year-old Mexican-American R&B star on his Desvelado Tour, which officially kicked off on April 5. Apollo will also be playing Coachella in a few weeks, on the same set days as headliner Harry Styles and collaborator Daniel Caesar — fingers crossed for a joint live performance of “Invincible!"

BIA & J. Cole, “London”

Calling all Brits — this one's for you. "He never met no one like me / It's pretty funny how now they all like me, innit?" Bia returns with “London,” a drill-tinged follow-up to 2021's global smash hit “Whole Lotta Money." According to Genius, back in November 2021, Bia posted a snippet of the song to her Instagram, and asked fans to suggest a London-based artist to feature on the track. Ultimately, Bia stayed closer to home, with North Carolina's very own J. Cole. But I mean, who else could reference a meme in a verse and then seconds later say “Crocs” in a British accent better than Cole?

Pricey, pricey, pricey.

Doechii, “Crazy”

23-year-old Doechii is coming for the throne, and we all need to get out of her way. With her latest offering “Crazy" and its powerful, outrageously evocative new visual, Doechii has heard your Missy Elliott comparisons — and doesn't disappoint.

Doechii crashes in on the track's hypnotic beat with a defense: “Y'all calling me crazy / When a b*tch been ballin' all day, like Brady.” The rapper doesn't let up, eventually leading to my favorite line of the new track: “You n***as can't date me / Look at your savings.”

Named one of the “Most Necessary Artists to Watch in 2022" by Spotify, Doechii recently made history as the first woman rapper signed to Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), home to artists like Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and SZA.

“'Crazy' is about un-contained power, creativity and confidence," Doechii said in a statement about the song. "People call you crazy when they fear you or they don’t understand you. So when I use it in the song I’m reflecting that energy back on them to show them themselves.”

Lauv, “All 4 Nothing (I'm So In Love)”

In the profound words of Nicki Minaj: Let's go to the beach-each, let's go get a wave. Singer Lauv takes us literally into the deep end in the visual for his new single “All 4 Nothing (I'm So In Love).”

In a statement, Lauv said the new track is "about loving someone so much at a time in your life when you’re still in the process of learning how to love yourself and being scared how your own personal insecurities could ruin a love that is and could be so genuine and transformative. In essence, it’s a song about surrendering to love and life.”

Warning: the music video contains scenes with strobing effects that may affect photosensitive viewers.

Ericdoa, “Lifeline”

Today, Gen-Z rising star Ericodoa drops his latest single “Lifeline."

"You can be my lifeline, and I ain't gettin' my soul back / Spent all my money on cigarettes and cognac / Sharp turns, we spin now, we off track / C'est la vie, turn an old me to a throwback," sings Ericdoa in the earworm chorus.

“Lifeline” is the follow-up to “Sad4whattt,” which appeared on the fourth episode of the second season of Euphoria, and 2021's Then I'll Be Happy, his joint-EP with frequent collaborator Glaive.

The 19-year-old singer and producer has gotten co-signs from some of the most exciting names in music right now, including The Kid Laroi, Yungblud, Lauv, and rapper Trippie Redd, who gave Ericdoa the ultimate endorsement: “His sh*t's pretty tough.” Same, Trippie Redd. Same.

Later this month, Ericdoa will set out to headline his first North American tour. Check out the music video for “Lifeline” above, and play the video game featured in the visual here.
