These Are The Least Safe Cities In California

Since the pandemic started, people have moved their lives to different states and different cities. For those looking to stay within the Golden State but still want a change of scenery or a break from ever-increasing rents, safety is also an important aspect when searching for a new place to call home. Security review website SafeWise released its ranking of the 50 Safest Cities in California.

To determine the safest cities, SafeWise looked at FBI crime statistics for each city. A total of 230 cities met the criteria to be considered for the ranking. According to their findings, Danville in Northern California is the safest city in California, followed by Rancho Santa Margarita in Orange County and Moorpark in Venture County.

On the other end, some local residents were surprised to see their hometowns listed as the least safe cities in the state. They include:

  • La Mirada (No. 47)
  • Yucaipa (No. 46)
  • Morgan Hill (No. 45)
  • La Puente (No. 44)
  • Hollister (No. 43)
  • Daly City (No. 42)
  • Cathedral City (No. 41)
  • Rocklin (No. 40)
  • San Gabriel (No. 39)
  • Glendale (No. 38)
  • Cypress (No. 37)
  • Dublin (No. 36)
  • Baldwin Park (No. 35)
  • San Clemente (No. 34)
  • Pleasanton (No. 33)
  • Foster City (No. 32)
  • Diamond Bar (No. 31)
  • Folsom (No. 30)
