When Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou as manager, he was mostly an unknown in European football. While he had enjoyed a lot success managing in Australia and Japan, his only stint at a club in Europe was at Panachaiki. On the other hand, the Hoops had tried to bring in Eddie Howe for months before it had failed to materialise. Thus, it was seen as a bit of a panic move on the part of the Parkhead outfit.

Less than a year on and it is safe to say that Postecoglou has established himself as one of the most popular managers in recent Celtic history. Not only has he brought success on the pitch but has formed a bond with the supporters as well.

Thus, it is safe to say that Celtic fans will be hoping that he remains at Parkhead for the foreseeable future.

But, Kenny Miller has warned that teams in England will have their eyes on Postecoglou. As reported by Football Scotland, the former Rangers star said on The Go Radio Football Show:

"“Celtic have identified him as someone who can come in and really impact a club, rebuild a team, and he’s done that.“He will be getting admiring glances from big teams in England.”"

Celtic sent Postecoglou warning by former Rangers star

Postecoglou has done a fantastic job to say the least, especially considering the magnitude of the task that he faced.

Celtic had finished 25 points behind the Rangers last season and underwhelmed in every other competition as well. They had not gotten a win over the Ibrox side since 2019. And on top of everything else, the squad needed a major rebuild as well, with key players like Scott Brown, Odsonne Edouard, Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie and several others leaving.

Thus, it would not be surprising if clubs down South have taken notice. But at the same time, it is hard to see Postecoglou leaving the club anytime soon unless an opportunity comes up that he simply cannot turn down, especially if Celtic do manage to win the Premiership this season and qualify for the upcoming Champions League main stage as a result.
