School changes coming to Estill County

IRVINE, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Estill County School Board voted to reorganize two schools on March 31.

The school board voted to make both Estill Springs and West Irvine into kindergarten through fifth-grade schools.

Enrollment in the two newly organized schools will divide along the Kentucky River with students with addresses north will go to Estill springs, and those south will go to West Irvine.

The first kindergarten registration will be on April 12.

Estill Springs previously served as a kindergarten through second-grade school, and West Irvine served as a third through fifth-grade school.
