Pablo Sandoval won a World Series ring with the Atlanta Braves last year after appearing in 69 games with them to begin the season. That makes it four career championships for Panda, who became a fan favorite while helping the Giants win their three titles in the 2010s.

Sandoval will be lacing up his cleats for the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League this season. He joined 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” Wednesday to talk Giants and give an update on his playing career. You can listen to the full interview below:

Pablo last played for the Giants in 2020 but was still keeping tabs on last year’s 107-win team.

“To win 107 games means something different,” Sandoval told hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “Those guys in the clubhouse, they were having fun. It’s one of those things that you look for in the game, to be part of a special group like that and keep winning.”

The Giants are excited about their starting rotation, which some believe may be best in baseball. Sandoval sees the potential too.

“Don’t sleep on that team, bro,” Sandoval said. “If you sleep on those guys, they’re gonna do it again.”

The Acereros feature a host of former major leaguers, many with ties to the Oakland A’s, including Bartolo Colón, Josh Reddick, Addison Russell, Chris Carter and Bruce Maxwell. He won’t be a part of MLB’s Opening Day festivities this week but knows how emotional it can be.

"It's special for everyone,” Sandoval said.. “It means a lot for those guys. You've been working hard every single day. Especially in the big leagues and you get your first call-up. It's going to be special every single year."
