The 2022 Washita County/CMH Health Fair was a great event that provided resources to be healthy and get moving. There were over 200 drawings and poetry that was submitted by each of the schools in Washita County. The winners were announced and those that attended Saturday received their award. The drawings and poetry will remain in the hallway at CMH for the month of April and the winners will be place in the front lobby for the year. Those that did not receive their award place contact CMH.

We enjoyed the great that the young people of Washita County shared Healthy Living. There were approximately 30 young people plus adults that participated in the Fun Run at the Washita Activity Center on Friday evening.

We had people that saw the cooking demonstrations and were able to get health recipes. CMH will continue to provide healthy recipes from ONIE, Oklahoma Nutrition Information and Education Project, in our dining area we have recipe carousels with all their recipes.

During the activity at the CMH Thursday and Friday morning there were many people that learned their pre-diabetic condition and lipid levels. A life coach was here to help guide you onto healthy living. There were two groups here testing for COVID antibody and vaccine opinion. Those whose antibody levels were medium to low were able to receive a booster.

As with everything that is started new or restarted we have seen ways to improve, expand, bring more people to be involved and to participate with us for Western Oklahoma Wellness.

Thank you to those who came and we welcome all input to make this better.

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
