(SportsRadio 610) - When the MLB season begins Thursday, the Astros will be without one of their best starting pitchers and one of their center fielders.

Both players were injured during the Astros' ALDS against the Chicago White Sox last year. Lance McCullers Jr. suffered a forearm strain, while Jake Meyers suffered a torn labrum contesting a ball and colliding with the fence at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago.

Neither has played since. Astros general manager spoke to Mark Berman of Fox 26 and provided an update on both players.

Listen to Clint Stoerner & "The Show" discuss it here (22:52).
