Caufield scored a power-play goal, had two shots on net, blocked one shot and picked up two penalty minutes in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to Ottawa.
Caufield was in the box when the Senators' Tim Stutzle gave Ottawa a 2-1 lead in the second period. However, Montreal's forward atoned for that lack of discipline with a power-play marker of his own later in the same period. It was the second straight game with a tally for Caufield and fifth of the season on the power play.
