May the best chef win. That is the mentality of a new cooking show coming to Food Network this week.
The series “Big Restaurant Bet” premieres on Food Network Tuesday, April 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Stream it weekly on Discovery+. You can also watch it on FuboTV (free trial), Sling and Philo. Chefs from across the country are vying for the chance to prove their culinary skills and win an investment in their own businesses. These chefs are competing for the chance to partner with Geoffrey Zakarian to gain an investment of $250,000 and start the restaurant of their dreams.
The eight contestants of this season include Mariana Alvarado, founder of Masazul in Las Vegas; Demetrius Baxter, owner and operator of Chef Demetrius LLC in Phoenix, Arizona; Leo Davila, chef and owner of Stixs & Stone in San Antonio, Texas; Coby Farrow of Burlington, New Jersey; Torrece “Chef T” Gregoire, owner of Chef T Culinary Concepts in Draper, Virginia; Jesa Henneberry, a consultant and private chef in Westfield, New Jersey; Brett Vibber, caterer and consultant of Wild Arizona Cuisine; and Alicia Watson, chef, owner and “plant-based entrepreneur” of Vito and Vera in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The contestants will go through grueling competition to see if they can stand the heat, and run their own business.
