Famous Kansas Citians and KU fans took to Twitter last night to celebrate the thrilling NCAA tournament win

The Kansas men's basketball team may play in Lawrence, but with no NBA team in sight, the Jayhawks are routinely embraced as a Kansas City team. Much to KC-based Mizzou fans' dismay, a slip-up by the NCAA president Mark Emmert only further cemented this idea. Rest assured, unlike the Chiefs and Royals, the Jayhawks don't plan to move where they play anytime soon. The KC love was on full display last night, though, as KU fans and famous Kansas Citians took to the internet to celebrate the win. Including the king of Kansas City himself, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes wasn't the only Chiefs player who got in on the KU love. Movie and TV star Rob Riggle was actually in Lawrence on Monday night to hype up the crowd at the title game watch party at Allen Fieldhouse. Riggle has been a public supporter of the team for decades, along with KC icons Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis Another KC icon, Eric Stonestreet, was also impressed by the come-from-behind win. As excited as Kansas City was, it would be a shame to go without mentioning the massive celebration in Lawrence Monday night. Thousands packed Mass Street in the college town to celebrate the team's first NCAA championship since 2008Not only was the celebration massive, but according to the city and police, it was incident-free as well.
