Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert has endorsed Brett Lindstrom, a Republican state senator, in the Nebraska gubernatorial race.
"I'm impressed with Brett's ability to work with senators from across the state regardless of whether they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, urban, or rural. That ability will serve him extremely well as Governor," Stothert said in a statement.
"It's a very timely endorsement," Lindstrom told FOX 42. "With the absentee ballots being mailed back this week, the timing is very good. You layer on the tax package that we're getting done currently, a lot of things are just stacking up in a positive way that's saying hey, this is a guy that's walked the walk, who's delivered on what he said he's going to deliver on and all of it plays a role in this campaign the last 36 days."
Election day for the Nebraska primaries is May 10, 2022.
