Former president Donald Trump took aim at Michigan Rep. Peter Meijer during an in-state rally over the weekend.

Trump, who was in Washington Township for a “Save America” rally on Saturday, spent several minutes making fun of the spelling of the 34-year-old Republican’s name, even though it’s one of the most famous in Michigan.

Meijer’s family founded the Michigan-based Meijer superstore chain with stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Meijer is the grandson of store founder Frederik Meijer.

Peter Meijer, who represents Michigan’s third congressional district, has been targeted by Trump since he voted to impeach him over the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

And even though the vast majority of Michiganders know how to pronounce Meijer, that didn’t stop Trump from making jokes to the partisan crowd, according to a CSPAN video of his speech.

“A guy who spells his name M-E-I-J-E-R but they pronounce it Meyer,” Trump said. “The hell kind of a spelling is that?”

He then continued, while urging Michigan voters to oust him during the August primaries.

“I said, how the hell do you pronounce this guy’s name? Nobody knows if he’s done nothing in Washington... I said, how do you pronounce his name, is it Ma-ger, My-ger? They said it’s My-er. How the hell do you get My-er out of it?”
