The Rangers informed Culberson on Sunday that he'll be included on the team's Opening Day roster, independent baseball journalist Jeff Wilson reports.

Culberson likely clinched his spot as a utility option off the bench after the Rangers optioned Yonny Hernandez to Triple-A Round Rock and reassigned Matt Carpenter to the minors within the last few days. The 32-year-old Culberson is expected to have a regular spot in the lineup against left-handed pitchers after he supplied a .932 OPS in 144 plate appearances in those matchups in 2021.
